FAQs

Prospective Client Q1: “How do you go about being a Doula for a sister who practises segregation with her husband?”

My answer: I respect and honour each and every one of my clients’ decisions, choices and preferences. I observe the niqab (face veil) and always have myself covered at births; particularly at hospital births, for most virtual births via video call and at homebirths in the eventuality that we might end up transferring to hospital. I follow your instruction, so if you ask me to stay in the room and with you wherever you are, I will. If you would like me to leave so that you can be with your husband and/or family alone, I will. I can be as present or as discreet as you need or want me to be. I follow your lead.

Prospective Client Q2: “Can I pay in instalments?”

My answer: Yes! I do not ask for you to pay the full amount up front, unless you book me at 38 weeks which is when I would require the full amount to have been paid to ensure your on-call period. Depending on when you decide that you would like me to support you on your journey, I usually split the amount into two instalments and I have been known to accommodate more flexible instalment plans for those who need it, feesibillah.

Prospective Client Q3: “Can I amend or alter the service package?”

My answer: I offer custom packages, within reason, yes. This is something that we can discuss before we sign the contract so that we are in agreement in shaa Allah.

Prospective Client Q4: “So if I want to book you, how does it work?”

My answer: From the moment you make contact with me, we agree on a suitable date for us both to have a consultation call/Zoom meeting. This is a FREE offering on my part and it allows us to cover any basic queries that you may have and add clarity in shaa Allah. It also allows you to get closer to making a decision as to whether you think you’d like me to support you during your journey. Once you have decided that you would like me with you, I then send you leaflets and info regarding which service package would suit you best. Once a decision has been made, I then send you the Birth contract for you to sign. In order to secure your booking, you would then have to pay a non-refundable deposit of £50 and that’s it! You’ve got me for as long as you want/need me. Alhamdulilaah
